JEEP TOUR / JEEP SAFARI IN VALIA KALDA (HOT VALLEY)

Explore the oldest and largest National Park in the Pindus Mountains. A unique adrenaline-pumping experience on dirt roads and tracks and paths in truly unspoiled nature. Valia Kalda, meaning Warm Valley in the local Vlach/Aromanian dialect, is a protected national park with some of the oldest mantle rocks (40 million years old). It is an ecosystem of unique importance and a refuge for the protection of many mammals (brown bear, wolf, fox, wild boar, chamois [a mountain goat-antelope] and wild goat, as well as rare bird species such as the golden eagle and reptiles.
Description:
Our expert driver-guides strictly follow routes approved by the park administration for as little a human footprint in this wonderful nature as possible, these tracks being used by brown bears, lumberjacks, and the occasional shepherd. We sample wild berries (according to season), while we admire high mountains, forested slopes covered with Balkan Black pine trees and stunning nature unfolding in front of our eyes, occasionally dipping in ice-cold waters.
