Trail 1: Charokopi’s Bridge (Tsibovo)- Plaka’s Bridge

We begin our river ride at the Charokopi’s Bridge, after we get ourselves fully equipped with specialized rafting equipment. The canyon reaches 700 meters high in places and there is a moss-covered cliff-cave of astounding beauty and then the 14-meter high Klifki waterfall, where we can dive in the ice-cold waters. The ride ends after we pass below the impressive 20-meter high and 40 meters width one-arch Plaka Bridge, one of the most beautiful stone bridges in the Balkans, recently reconstructed after a catastrophic flash flood.
Alpine Zone base is a few meters after the bridge, and its staff will be waiting, offering traditional syrup sweets, water, changing rooms and washing facilities, plus a BBQ meal (the last after your request).

We begin our river ride at the 19th century Politsa Bridge, after we get ourselves fully equipped with specialized rafting equipment. No previous rafting experience needed. Kalarritikos is the most important tributary of Arachthos River, originating from Tzoumerka. Collecting the crystal clear water of the springs from the wider area of Tzoumerka, specifically from the neck of Melissourgos, from Kakarditsa to Peristeri, it manages to feed Arachthos, offering an alpine landscape full of wild beauty.

RAFTING IN VOIDOMATIS RIVER, ZAGORI, EPIRUS, GREECE- THE CLEANEST RIVER IN WHOLE EUROPE- A MUST HAVE !

A river ride in the heart of the Vikos-Aoos National Park, in the mountain wonderland of Zagori. It was the place of the late Ice Age (actually 17.500-9.500 years ago) where hunters’ settlement dominated the area, the seat of various monasteries and the site of a murder that plunged the area in a deadly blood feud that lasted for years and destroyed a prosperous village in the process.

We start our descent from Aristi Bridge after we get ourselves fully equipped with specialized rafting equipment. No previous rafting experience needed. We slide and wade through some of the clearest (and coldest) waters in Europe, through pristine nature shone by Oriental plane trees, in a place steeped in history. At the end of the ride, we pass below the famous stone bridge of Klidonia (last rebuilt in 1853) and then through an artificial dam that creates a rip current (waterfall).
