Detailed Description
Canyoning at Nefeli Canyon (Section A) is the ultimate introduction to the vertical world of Zagori. Combining hiking through wild scenery with the thrill of rappelling down waterfalls, this activity offers a unique way to experience the virgin nature of the Vikos-Aoos National Park. Designed specifically for families and beginners, this route allows you to explore at your own pace while gaining access to spectacular, water-sculpted gorges.
Our adventure begins at the historic church of Megalo Papigko. After a scenic 10-minute walk along the path leading to the sources of the Voidomatis River, we reach the first descent point. The journey features 5 rappels in total; the first three are close together, ranging from 4 to 7 meters in height, providing the perfect opportunity to build your confidence. The highlight of the trip is the final 17-meter rappel, offering a breathtaking view and an unforgettable adrenaline rush.
No previous experience is required to join. Our expert guides provide all necessary technical gear and professional instruction to ensure your absolute safety. The experience concludes with a 30-minute hike back to our starting point, where the Alpine Zone team will be waiting with energy snacks, cold water, and free photos of your descent.
*Note: Participants must provide their own hiking or closed sports shoes that will get wet during the activity. Sandals and open shoes are strictly prohibited for safety reasons.
