Choosing Deos Canyon near Metsovo means opting for an incomparable, high-adrenaline experience. Located a short distance from the village of Paleochori, this gorge offers a demanding water field that will challenge even the most adventurous spirits.

The journey begins with a 20-minute descent following a dirt road and a mountain path that leads us directly to the first rappel. Once we enter the canyon, the action is non-stop: all 9 rappels are located right next to each other, minimizing hiking time and maximizing the vertical adventure. The highest descent reaches 27 meters, offering breathtaking views of the rugged cliffs.

The true highlight of Deos lies in its subterranean secrets. Half of the 8th rappel takes place inside a natural cave, while the final 9th rappel is completed in the dark as we enter a second cavern, creating a mystical and unforgettable finish to the descent.

After completing the rappels, we exit back onto the dirt road for a 35-40 minute uphill hike to return to the starting point. This 7-hour expedition is the ultimate original adventure for those seeking extreme experiences in a virgin, natural environment.

Amazing rafting experience for families We were a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. The amazing Kosta was our guide. He calmly and pleasantly explained everything, made sure we feel comfortable and practice the rafting instructions. The kids LOVED it. He explain led about the river and surrounding while we were rafting along the river. The view was amazing (even though it was December). While the heights are more imposing, no previous experience is required as our guides lead you through every step.

The journey begins at the church of Megalo Papigko, following the scenic path toward the sources of the Voidomatis River. After an easy 10-minute walk, the action starts immediately. You will navigate the first three rappels (4 to 7 meters) to find your rhythm, followed by a challenging 17-meter drop. The excitement peaks during the final five descents, where the rappels become more demanding, culminating in a spectacular 30-meter vertical cliff that will keep your adrenaline pumping.

Despite the increased technical feel, the route remains family-friendly and perfect for adventurous beginners. After completing the descents, a 45-minute hike through a lush forest path brings us back to our starting point. As always, the Alpine Zone team provides all technical equipment, energy supplements, and free photos to commemorate your achievement.

Canyoning at Nefeli Canyon (Section A) is the ultimate introduction to the vertical world of Zagori. Combining hiking through wild scenery with the thrill of rappelling down waterfalls, this activity offers a unique way to experience the virgin nature of the Vikos-Aoos National Park. Designed specifically for families and beginners, this route allows you to explore at your own pace while gaining access to spectacular, water-sculpted gorges.

Our adventure begins at the historic church of Megalo Papigko. After a scenic 10-minute walk along the path leading to the sources of the Voidomatis River, we reach the first descent point. The journey features 5 rappels in total; the first three are close together, ranging from 4 to 7 meters in height, providing the perfect opportunity to build your confidence. The highlight of the trip is the final 17-meter rappel, offering a breathtaking view and an unforgettable adrenaline rush.

No previous experience is required to join. Our expert guides provide all necessary technical gear and professional instruction to ensure your absolute safety. The experience concludes with a 30-minute hike back to our starting point, where the Alpine Zone team will be waiting with energy snacks, cold water, and free photos of your descent.

*Note: Participants must provide their own hiking or closed sports shoes that will get wet during the activity. Sandals and open shoes are strictly prohibited for safety reasons.

  • Difficulty Level: Easy (Ideal for beginners and families).
  • Rappels: 5 descents in total (Highest: 17 meters).
  • Physical Condition: Moderate fitness required for the 30-minute return hike.

Amazing rafting experience for families We were a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids. The amazing Kosta was our guide. He calmly and pleasantly explained everything, made sure we feel comfortable and practice the rafting instructions. The kids LOVED it. He explain led about the river and surrounding while we were rafting along the river. The view was amazing (even though it was December). Voidomatis river rafting Costas was a very good guide. The fee was reasonable. It took around 2 hours for the whole experience. The 6km stretch of the river was beautiful. The water was crystal clear. We were only 2 of us as it was off season but we still had a great experience.
