Detailed Description
For those who crave more action and higher descents, Nefeli Canyon (Section B) is the premier choice in Zagori. This extended version of the gorge increases the intensity with 8 rappels in total, making it one of our most popular and rewarding technical trips. While the heights are more imposing, no previous experience is required as our guides lead you through every step.
The journey begins at the church of Megalo Papigko, following the scenic path toward the sources of the Voidomatis River. After an easy 10-minute walk, the action starts immediately. You will navigate the first three rappels (4 to 7 meters) to find your rhythm, followed by a challenging 17-meter drop. The excitement peaks during the final five descents, where the rappels become more demanding, culminating in a spectacular 30-meter vertical cliff that will keep your adrenaline pumping.
Despite the increased technical feel, the route remains family-friendly and perfect for adventurous beginners. After completing the descents, a 45-minute hike through a lush forest path brings us back to our starting point. As always, the Alpine Zone team provides all technical equipment, energy supplements, and free photos to commemorate your achievement.
