RAFTING IN KALARRITIKOS

RAFTING IN KALARRITIKOS RIVER, TZOUMERKA, EPIRUS, GREECE

Trail: Michalitsi Bridge – Plaka’s Bridge

Kalarritikos is the most important tributary of Arachthos River, originating from Tzoumerka. Collecting the crystal clear water of the springs from the wider area of Tzoumerka, specifically from the neck of Melissourgos, from Kakarditsa to Peristeri, it manages to feed Arachthos, offering an alpine landscape full of wild beauty.
Description:
We start our 4- hour descent from the Michalitsi Bridge and the ride ends after we pass below the impressive 20-meter high one-arch Plaka Bridge, one of the best stone bridges in the Balkans. The base of Alpine Zone is located just a few meters from the bridge and Alpine Zone staff will be waiting for you at the base, offering you traditional syrup sweets (baklava), changing rooms and washing facilities.
